AD2SF presents our 4th annual portfolio and resume review on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Grey San Francisco!

Meet one-on-one with at least two creative directors, account leads, and/or agency recruiters from various SF agencies and get immediate (and brutally honest) feedback on the things you’ve worked so hard on. Snacks and nonalcoholic drinks will be served.

SPRING SHOW 2013: Call for Student Work


You’ve worked hard all school year, creating campaigns for classes and competitions. Now it is time to show your classmates, the AAU community, and the Advertising Industry what you’re made of. It is time for the Spring Show.


Entry Instructions

  • Work entered must have been created between the Spring 2012 – Spring 2013 semesters and has not appeared in the Spring Show previously
  • You are required to enter all entry credit information at the ADV Spring Show Submission website ( You may enter more than one name in each category.
  • Please follow these instructions exactly or your submission(s) may be disqualified
  • Deadline to submit is April 12th at 7pm. NO EXCEPTIONS



Entries submitted for judging will be the following format:



  • Print to size, unmounted.
  • Write your student ID on the back of EACH PIECE.
  • Paperclip (or staple) and drop in the box labeled “CAMPAIGNS PRINT: SPRING SHOW”
  • Enter the credits for your entry at


  • Can be in video or printed format.  If in video format, see specifications below.  If printed, see Posters specifications below.
  • Resolution: 1280×720
  • File Types: .mov, .mp4., mpg
  • · Recommended Frame Rate: 30 frames per second
  • Example:

  • Save files to a DVD or CD and label disc with your student id.

  • Prepare per the instructions and submit to ADV Office.  Boxes will be located in the Reception Area on the 3rd floor of 410 Bush.
  • If you are selected, you will be notified at the email you provide on the credit page below.
  • You will be asked to submit higher resolution files for print and campaign entries. Be ready.





1. Does it have to be work done in AAU classes?

NO. We certainly welcome any projects you have not completed in a class and on your own time. It must have been created for your use and not that of paid client. No agency work. Just stuff you personally did to benefit yourself.  If needed, simply write “independent project” in the credit entry screen under Course and instructor fields.

2. Since you can submit multiple names to a piece, would my copywriter and I submit the same piece? or Just one of us?

Just one person submits the campaign and credits both of you. The other team mate should NOT enter the same campaign. This will also increase the amount of campaigns you have worked on  being submitted for judging.

COMPETITION: Young Glory – March

For the month of March, Young Glory partners with Sid Lee, who challenges young creatives to create awareness around one of Sir Richard Branson’s favorite causes: ending the war on drugs. Winners from both categories will get to present their ideas to Sir Richard Branson on stage at an event called C2-MTL in Montreal in May.

Please note: If you wish to submit to Young Glory, your work must be approved by a director (or, if submitted through a class, by an instructor.) Once that has occured, it must then be emailed to Dallas Augustine, AAU ADV Administrator, at in the following format:

de Young Museum’s Annual Student Showcase

The de Young New Generations Student and Faculty Advisory Committee
invites college and university students to submit proposals of visual art,
film, music, or performance art inspired by the special exhibitions at
the de Young:

Girl with a Pearl Earring: Dutch Paintings from the Mauritshuis
Rembrandt’s Century
Eye Level in Iraq: Photographs by Kael Alford and Thorne Anderson
Objects of Belief from the Vatican: Art of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas

Last year, there was a significant number of Academy of Art University student works displayed at the de Young museum.

This year the chosen pieces will be up for display for an entire day, not just the evening – and there are cash prizes for the 3 top submissions. Submissions are due March 15th. The Annual Student Showcase will be unveiled at the de Young on April 19th.
