ADV Spring Show 2019 Submission Guidelines

ADV SPRING SHOW ELIGIBILITY

You must be a student in the ADV department, and your submitted work must be toward your ADV degree or part of a student competition. This can include work created in other departments’ courses or in student competitions. The submitted work must have been created between April 7, 2018 and the submission deadline of April 5, 2019.

SUBMISSIONS

New! Please submit one thumbnail image, and one to six (6) presentation images. Example project with 6 presentation images.

The thumbnail image must be a PNG at 1166px x 656px and contain a representative image of your campaign or project.. This image will be visible on the main ADV Spring Show site.
The presentation images must be PNG files at 1920px x 1080px. Subject matter may include:

  • staged images of your project in the appropriate environment (hero shots)
  • explanations, process, strategy
  • print ads, radio scripts, non-traditional media mockups, etc
  • screenshots or still renderings of video and motion frames
  • any combination of the above

(Optional)

You can also provide up to four (4) additional links. Types of links may include:

  • motion graphics hosted on Vimeo (no embedded or YouTube links, please)
  • audio or video hosted on Vimeo(no embedded or YouTune links, please)
  • websites, interactive pieces, and prototypes
  • other alternative mediums

ADJUDICATION

Not all entries will be chosen for Spring Show.

Large-scale, multi-component projects and integrated campaigns will be favored.

Creators of projects selected for inclusion in the Spring Show will be notified by the email included in the submission form.  So it is important you submit with an email you check regularly.

FAQ

How many projects can I submit?

You may submit up to 3 separate projects. If you need to resubmit a project, you should email advertising@academyart.edu with the subject line “ADV SpringShow Resubmit”

Can a group project be submitted?

Yes! There is a place in the form to include those additional student names.

Would a group project count as one of my three projects that I can submit?

If the student who submits that project wants to also submit three other projects, please notify the department at advertising@academyart.edu to get a project cap exception.

My instructor says he/she submitted my work for Spring Show. Do I need to do anything?

Yes. Students must fill out the submission form for each project submitted. Any work recommended to ADV in any other form will not be considered.

Can I submit work from a non-ADV class?

Students can submit projects created in a major class or competition from April 7, 2018 through April 5, 2019.

Who picks the work to be included in Spring Show?

Once the submission deadline passes, work will be collected and blindly adjudicated by the ADV Directors and Faculty.
