The AAU School of Advertising is hosting an internationally synchronized portfolio night next month and ummmm……ya – you should probably go to that. In case you have not seen the posters plastered all around the 410 Bush building, On May 21st, at least 30 Creative Directors from around the San Francisco area will be at the Cannery to look at student portfolios. Sign up today at portfolionight.com ($10 bucks- – that’s like 1/2 a latte) and get your work together. Showing it on iPads / laptops is ok but you need to have an organized body of ad work to attend. You should have had your mid point review, but exceptions are possible. If you haven’t had your midpoint, you’ll need approval from a Director (Vince, Ellen or Mark) or from Wojo. This event is geared for creatives – Art Directors and Writers. Please keep in mind this is not a job interview– it’s chance to show your work to a ginormous group of SF Creative Directors and get direct feedback on how to make your book better. (Yes, it’s also an unbelievably good way to schmooze and start building your contact list) If you have any questions, stop by Wojo’s office on the third floor.
