On April 14, 2014, 276 girls were abducted by Terrorist Group Boko Haram in Nigeria. Two years later, 219 remain captive.
This poster was for the “School Girl March” on April 14, 2016 in the United Nations Plaza, New York. The “School Girl March” was organized by “Bring Back Our Girls” an organization based in the United States.
In the poster, the girl is praying with cuffed hands, symbolizing the abduction. Although surrounded by darkness, she looks peaceful because she has not given up hope.
We want to spread that hope through this campaign. We can give these girls hope with our power and voice. We will show the world that we can make a difference for these girls. We will show that we won’t move on.
